Eamonn Matthews

Eamonn Matthews, Quicksilver Media’s Managing Director, is a renowned programme maker and executive producer. As Executive Producer of ‘The Death Squads he was part of the team that won the 2007 RTS International Current Affairs Award. In 2006 he won a BAFTA for his role as Executive Producer of the C4 film ‘Beslan’. (‘incredibly powerful and beautifully constructed…impeccable levels of editorial judgement’ – The Observer). First as Series Producer, and then as Executive Producer, he helped grow Unreported World into one of Channel 4’s most acclaimed strands. Also part of the team in the production of the ‘unreported world’, Eamonn shows that there is deep meaning in the world of Journalism. His professionalism shows in his character. He was present at the University of Coventry in an open discussion also known as the Coventry Conversations. Eamonn Shared his ideas about the success Reporting, with the main factor being that you must have a STORY before you can begin a report. “Reporters bring out actuality” are one of his main points in the discussion held at the Ellen Terry building of Coventry University’s Arts and Media Department. It was a pleasure having him around and he has truly inspired those that want to be involved in the media and want to take a career as a journalist or a producer.
